Project 1 / Box Making

For this exercise I had to choose two non-boxed in my daily surroundings. Than i had to make a box for them. I chose for a belt and a t-shirt.

First we had to sketch it on paper and then draw it in illustrator. We had to convert the Illustrator file to a DXF file and then we could cut it out in cardboard with a lazer cutter.

The first 2 times went wrong. The laser cutter cut to much.

The third time was perfect.

There were a few minor faults in the design, for example that the folded corners were too big. And the sides of the opening compartment were also too small.

With all the adjustments, this has become the end result

Things also went wrong with this packaging. In the first design the top was too big.

The viewing hole for the design of the shirt was also not in the right place. I have adjusted this in the new design.

The end result can be seen below. I also made a opening so you can easily open the top.
